Dwarves value fine ale and good company – generally other dwarves – and feasts often result in a mixture of loud speech, toasts and laughter. They amuse themselves with exaggerated stories of war, fame and riches. Arm wrestling and dice gambling are popular events in taverns.

Dwarves play board games which revolve around economic or military struggles and skilled players can win both riches and fame at public tournaments. The game pieces usually are intricately carved miniatures. They range in both style and material and are popular collectibles. Nobles typically own exclusive game sets.

The highlight of every dwarven feast is the traditional reciting of legends and historic events, where the deeds of the clans, ancestors and gods are accounted for. The Mervin dwarves have developed a fancy for halfling tobacco and at social occasions their meals are followed by the fuming of their pipes.
