The
dwarven tongue is often spoken in a stern gruff
tone. Dwarves are very proud of their language and
will easily become upset if they suspect their language
is being ridiculed in any way. If they come across
something foreign they will fabricate a new word
for it rather than borrow a word from another tongue.
Dwarves have a great number of words to describe
the quality, size and shape of rocks. The dwarven
runic alphabet is preferably etched into stone.
Dwarven runes do not contain any curved lines, making
them shapeable with chisels. All dwarven runes are
derived from the Borgin Rune, a set of lines that
describes the basic cutting of a diamond. Somewhat
simplified, a dwarven rune is a Borgin Rune with
lines subtracted.
