3. How much will it cost?
Forget monthly fees, Tildruin will be free.

4. What are the minimum computer requirements?
An Internet connection is required to play Tildruin. The minimum requirements are: Microsoft Windows, Pentium III: 500 MHz,
256MB RAM

5. Is Tildruin a graphical MUD?
With Tildruin we hope to combine the best of text based MUDs (Multi-User Dungeons) and graphical RPGs. Players will be able to choose between entering text commands or using a point-and-click interface. They will be able to select the gaming style that suits them best.

6. What server does Tildruin use?
The game server of Tildruin has been coded from the ground up in Java.

7. Is Tildruin based upon an existing fantasy world?
The world of Tildruin is a completely new setting with high ambitions for originality, quality and detail. Hand tailored dialogues and quests will introduce the player to the world and rich text descriptions will help to further establish the background of the Tildruin universe.

8. How will a character gain experience?
Skills are the key to developing your character in Tildruin. They are improved through use and are best honed when put to test against a worthy challenge. Many skills are taught within the traditional guild system as a part of a character's path, but there are also many skills that can be quested. The large amount of quested skills minimizes the chance of two specialized characters of the same guild having the same skill sets.

9. How will the guild system work?
A character's principal activity in life is referred to as her path. A path consists of three stages; Class, Profession and Specialization. Each stage of the path is taught by a specific guild. Guilds are run by NPCs (Non Player Characters) and they will, at higher levels, require payment for their services.

A character will begin her career as a member of a guild. As she progress within the hierarchy of the guild she is taught new guild secrets and skills. The character advances within the guild by developing relevant skills and she receives a guild title that indicates her current level within the guild. When she has mastered all that the guild has to offer she has the opportunity to join another, more advanced, guild along her path.

10. How will the Tildruin economy work?
The Tildruin economy is focused on player vs. player interaction. Houses, shops and furniture are examples of money sinks. There are many fees tied to running player organizations and owning property. Items decay and repair is costly. This prevents money from becoming overabundant at higher levels. We will continually be inventing new things to spend money on as the economy expands.

11. What type of equipment can be found?
Tildruin features a wide variety of items. This includes weapons, musical instruments, crafting tools, furniture, clothing, different materials and more. Items can be found, quested, bought or crafted. Found items may be randomly dropped, but most items have been placed in an area with intent and concern. Player crafted items can be further enhanced with skills such as heraldry and runes. Items do not have restrictions, but sufficient skills are needed to utilize them properly. The world is sparse with powerful magic and magical healing potions and flaming swords are expensive and rare to see in use. It is more common to utilize the inherent abilities of a material in an item to reach enhancing effects. For example one can use the natural properties in certain plants to create a healing decoction.

12. Will character attributes change?
A character's starting attributes will change with age and they can be manipulated through the use of powerful items or magic. Aging effects can be slowed and there will be extremely hard quests for rejuvenation.

13. How is death handled?
Tildruin features an advanced death system. Characters that die are abolished to a featureless plane of existence - Death. This featureless realm gives players the possibility to fill in the blanks and define their own death experiences. This fits nicely with Tildruin's overall ambition to not impose a concept of reality, death, magic and religion upon the players. A dead character cannot return to life without help from the living. The dead can contact the living through many means like dreams and spiritualism. Priest classes will play an important role in the process of bringing back the dead. The character's corpse rots within two (real time) weeks and a full decay will result in a permanent death.

14. Can players found organizations?
Players will have the option of founding organizations. There will be three types:

1. Clans based upon race
2. Cults based upon religion
3. Associations based upon a common interest

Organizations will have the options of buying an organization hall. A cult will most likely want to build a temple. The hall structure can vary in size and be expanded with new funding. Organizations will also be able to craft an (approved) item of their choice to reflect membership status, as well as to set member titles to reflect rank.

15. How will religions work?
Once a priest has reached the Specialization stage in her Path she may create a new religion. Other characters may confess to this religion and priests of the faith can start cults in its honor. Gods and divine powers are not directly present and the divine influence in the world is mainly channeled through priests, which leaves room for the scoffing of skeptic atheists. Players can become high priests or ordains, but not avatars or gods.

16. Will there be player-killing?
Yes and no. Initially player-killing (PK) will be limited. You will be able to challenge another player character to a duel, but you cannot force her to accept. A full scale PK system demands careful balancing and if we implement one it will not be until we feel the other aspects of the game have stabilized. Since combat is but one of the features of Tildruin, an eventual PK system will be restricted to those who wish to partake in such activities.
