In
ancient times the gnomes lived underground, far
below the surface, but a natural disaster forced
them to leave their homes. After a long and tasking
journey they eventually surfaced at Mount Jharlsbor.
They have lived there ever since, and during the
centuries their cavernous settlement has grown to
a city of both substantial size and beauty.
They call their city Frimblir and, according to
their historians, it is the oldest city in the region.
The gnomes are very proud of it, for the city has
many renowned buildings, like the Grand Frimblir
Library, the Temple of Yorpfin and the Observatory.
Foreign traders are only invited into the common
part of the city, therefore few outlanders have
experienced the beauty of the wonders first hand.
Only gnomes and the occasional dwarf are permitted
to venture into the heart of the city.
Several dwarven clans dwell in Frimblir. They are
a reminder of the close relations between the royal
gnome and dwarven clans. The dwarves reinstated
the Forthris as the ruling clan of Frimblir in ages
past, and to show their gratitude the Forthris sent
gnomes to Borwin to establish a diamond mine operation.
