Humans
are about as tall as elves, but not as physically
strong as orcs. Their veins are somewhat visible
through their transparent skin, which offers little
protection to their vulnerable flesh. Human ears
are rounded and hair is sparse on their bodies.
Humans feel little kinship with other humans and
have kindled the torch of war amongst themselves
unlike any other race. Advancement and progress
is pursued in all fields of life and society. Humans
strive for knowledge, but they are afraid of that
which they cannot foresee. Control is important
to a human and is accomplished by establishing patterns.
These patterns are based upon the assumption that
if something happens frequently enough it is bound
to happen again. Events and behavior that do not
fit into a pattern can mock a human's mind into
insanity.
Humans will pursue a goal fanatically, making great
sacrifices, especially if it involves power and
wealth. Dwarves have come to know humans through
their trade. They say about humans: "Humans combine
the best of elves and the worst of orcs. At one
moment they will be your best friend and in the
next they will betray you. Their loyalty sways like
the wind."
Humans have like no other race spawned myths and
legends about the perfect being. Humans as an overall
race are talented in everything they put themselves
to. They are famous for their many inventions and
creations. Ironically it is their struggle for divinity
that flaws their products and they never fully master
any skills like elves excel in wood crafting or
dwarves in metal forging.
