The
humans are a people of strong emotions, something
that is reflected in their tastes in entertainment.
Their varied cultures have given rise to many different
types of leisure activities, but regardless of what
they engage in, they do it with passion. Artworks
and performances are generally very dramatic and
revolve around subjects like love, hate, violence
and death. Common themes are revenge, impossible
odds, and epic victories rewarded with love, status
or wealth, This is something that can be traced
to the human drive to seek accomplishment and mastery.
This trait also spurs competitiveness in all kinds
of pursuits, such as crafting and fighting competitions,
and beauty and art contests.
The courts of Arwondel host many banquets, masquerades
and jousting competitions, and many of the bigger
cities host theaters where actors and artists perform.
Among the Odar humans, common contests involve displaying
skill with horses, such as horseback acrobatics
and obedience training. The Isenvor humans boast
big feasts when the supplies are plenty, and they
play simple games of dice or bones for leisure.
In Emerald Bay singing is a part of everyday life,
both for work and leisure, and demonstrations in
sailing and fishing spur many competitions.
