Orc
society is divided into tribes. The tribes are large
groups of orcs united by a common dialect, customs,
territory and history. A nomad pack or a small village
may consist of only one tribe.
Among the mountain orcs the differences between
the tribes have diminished, in favor of a feeling
of belonging to one people the Ograkk tribe.
In contrast, The Kharbesh orc tribes rarely cooperate
unless an external threat unites them.
Families by the standards of other races are non-existent
in orc society, and bloodline and heritage are deemed
irrelevant. Thus an orc has no other means to acquire
status than through her own cunning and competence.
Other races often think this to be harsh, but on
the other hand any position is open for an orc,
if she is able to claim it. |
