Trolls have light beige skin, and they lack facial hair growth. The Sarmoor and Gordawir trolls are often pale, though their skin can appear mottled due to warts and lumps. Troll eyes range from black and brown to blue and green. The Gordawir trolls usually have black or gray eyes.

Trolls require little clothing, unless it is a cold winter, and their repertoire of garments is typically limited. They favor garbs that yield warmth, beauty or have some symbolic value.

The rural trolls usually cover themselves with rags, or wear simple shirts and pants. During cold or rainy periods they sometimes wear cloaks. They mostly use hide and leather to make clothes, which they acquire from their quarry or herds. Some tribes are rumored to make use of patched humanoid hides as clothing. The Oukra trolls are known for their ability to make quality furs. Shamans often wear fanciful headgear, made of fur and animal parts, to display their position, and many trolls use tribal masks.

Trolls often paint or tattoo tribal symbols upon their bodies, and body painting and producing of color are respected trades. The Sarmoor trolls have a wide variety of colors at their dispense, and often make fanciful patterns. Many trolls, especially the men, file their teeth to make them sharp. Bone piercing is a popular way to decorate oneself, and due to their thick hides, they often use rather big bones pieces to penetrate their noses, ears and lips.

They adorn themselves with talismans and tokens made of bone, horn or wood. Such things are seldom worn to display wealth, but are rather appreciated for their spiritual or affectionate value. It is a widespread custom to bring something from their homelands if they leave their territory. Such things may be pebbles, acorns or roots, and are believed to keep a troll close to home in spirit, even if the body has wandered far. The Gordawir trolls often use stone to make adornments, like rings and amulets. Their art and adornments are often crude depictions of animals, totems or spirit-gods.

The Arwondel trolls have been assimilated into the city life of the humans, and they commonly dress up in basic clothing, such as tunics or shirts and boots. They prefer cool and durable materials such as linen. Tribal tattooing occurs, but it is less common than among the rural sub-races. Many wear metal jewelry along with the traditional talismans and tokens of their people.
