Trolls have always populated Oukra Woods, living in tribes that defend a particular area. However, their territories have diminished over time, due to the invasion and exploitation of other races. Oukra Woods spanned from the southern Sarmoor Swamp, to lands far beyond the northern Mordaen River before the forest was divided.

The Arwondel Kingdoms have, more any other powers, expanded into the troll territories. The humans kidnapped troll children along the outskirts of Oukra Woods during the age of the Barinorr Empire to breed them as slaves. The trolls responded by raiding villages in Loldar, Torindal and Gotanvir. At the peak of their conflicts the Barinorr Empire threatened to torch down their woods, to force them out, but the empire crumbled before these plans were carried out.

As it now stands, the forest trolls mainly dwell in the remaining parts of the ancient Oukra Woods – Greater and Lesser Oukra. In their search for new habitats the Oukra trolls have spawned into new groups, namely the Gordawir and Sarmoor.
